💜 Autistic Voices Matter: Celebrating Lived Experience This April
This Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month, we want to do more than raise awareness—we want to raise voices.
At NeuroEmpowered Leicester CIC, everything we do is rooted in real experiences. That’s why this April, we’re inviting autistic individuals—of all ages and backgrounds—to share their own truths with us.
Whether you're diagnosed, self-identifying, or still figuring it all out, your voice matters, and we’d love to help amplify it.
🧠 What Are We Looking For?
This is not about polished writing or perfect storytelling. It’s about honest, empowering reflections from people who know what it’s really like to be autistic.
You could share:
A moment you're proud of 💪
A reflection on what being autistic means to you
A creative piece (art, poetry, photography, etc.)
A piece of advice you’d give others
Something you wish people better understood
We’ll be featuring these stories throughout the month on our website and Facebook page, with your permission—whether named, anonymous, or under a pseudonym.
✉️ How to Get Involved
If you'd like to contribute, simply email us at info@neuroempowered.org or message us directly via our Facebook page with your piece or idea.
💬 Why It Matters
Autistic voices are powerful—and too often, they’re overlooked in conversations about autism. This month, let’s change that. Let’s celebrate autistic identity, challenge outdated narratives, and build a future shaped by the people who live it.
We can't wait to hear from you 💜— The NeuroEmpowered Team
